Lord Crane and Stephen Day face old enemies and new in a thrilling final confrontation where together they show off the ancient powers their partnership has wrought. Crane is his usual arrogant, superior self and woo boy is his commanding presence a turn on, the sexy scenes are sizzling hot as the two of them foment blood and sex magic to scorching effect.
I really love Crane and Stephen's relationship and the fact that they are so bound and committed to each other that you know that even the threat of a homicidal warlord won't tear them apart. As they come to acknowledge their deep commitment the unforeseen consequences of tumultuous emotions (the tattoos!!) slowly emerge.
An excellent final installment to the Magpie Lord trilogy and my favorite of them all. Highly recommend. (less)
